If you wish to have the pattern in your Ravelry library please purchase it from Ravelry instead.

The simple textured pattern is a 12-stitch, 16-row repeat. Within these 16 rows, the bands of textured pattern or striae are worked over 6 rows and the remaining 10 rows of the repeat are stocking stitch. The easy rib detail on the side edges follows up from the lower band, into the raglan armhole shaping and finally into the neckband. The rib panels provide additional width around the hip and bust; but then naturally pull in around the waist.

The sweater is knitted in separate pieces, beginning at the lower edge, and is seamed using mattress stitch. It features K2, P2 rib bands and fashioned raglan sleeves.

The back and front pieces are alike and do not have neck shaping. Instead, the sleeve raglan is slightly wider at the top edge and this gives depth to the neckline.

The Striae Sweater requires intermediate knitting skills.

Important knitting Information

Choose the size to make based on how much positive ease is required. For example if your bust size is 86cm/34ins you may wish to make the finished size that measures 92.5cm/36½ins for 6.5cm/2½ins positive ease. I suggest measuring an existing garment that you like the fit of and using that measurement, select the size to knit.

The Back, Front and Sleeves all finish at the same point in the pattern at the cast-off for the beginning of the raglan armholes and sleeve raglan. Should you wish to change the finished lengths of any of the pieces, you can vary it at this point.
