My Story

The challenges and satisfactions of making have always interested me. My mother taught me how to knit and sew as a child and creating something by hand has remained an abiding passion. I have spent many years hand-making my way through all sorts of garments, accessories, and home wares.

I have been lucky enough to spend most of my professional life in the hand-knitting sphere. During my 30-year career, I have worked with several leading yarn companies and magazines as a pattern writer and checker, sample knitter, hand-knitting teacher, technical editor, and studio manager.

I became even better acquainted with the culture and community of hand made during the five years I owned my own knitting shop business, buying, selling, advising, and teaching all things yarn related.

My hand-knitting patterns are the product of a lifetime of well-honed knitting skills and industry-level tech expertise. I aim to inspire knitters of all abilities with fresh, clever design ideas and clear, accurate guidance you can trust. Whether you're new to hand knitting or a dyed-in-the-wool maker, you'll find lots to inspire you here.
